He was tall and slender man, who seemed to be muscular. He had no hair, for his head was neatly shaven. His skin was a lighter shade of peach. At the corner of his black eyes were two small, red marking.

He wears straw sandals. A black, baggy hakama with a matching kosode that was slightly looser.

Personality Over all:
Ikkaku is like the cliffs against the ocean. Wave after waves smashes into him, and he endures. Ikkaku is a part of division eleven for a reason. He loves to fight and wants to surround himself in conflict. All in order to best his captain Kenpachi. He is very loyal and responsible when it comes to his allies.

Character History:
Not much is known about Ikkaku’s history before he joined the Gotei 13. He met Yumichika Ayasegawa. Ikkaku and Yumichika met Kenpachi and Yachiru and Ikkaku fought Kenpachi only to be beaten severely. After listening to Kenpachi’s philosophical words, Ikkaku went away to lick his wounds and then showed up later, joining the Gotei 13 and being assigned to Division 11, under Kenpachi Zaraki.

Zanpakuto Sealed Appearance:
Its scabbard is a dark purple. The hilt is hollow to store a small vial of healing ointment that Ikkaku can access by removing the hilt's pummel. Hozukimaru's tsuba is an oval, with what look like three small teardrops in relief on both the top and bottom end.

Zanpakuto's Shikai Appearance:
It appears to be a naginata (spear) with a wax wood shaft. The pommel also has a red horsehair tassel.

Shikai Abilities:
Ikkaku is able to separate his naginata into its true form which is a Sansetsukon (Three Sectional Staff), after which the sections can independently reconnect and separate again at will.[95] This special ability surprises one's opponents when they first attack. These chains are also able to extend a fair length, allowing Ikkaku to swing his weapon like a flail for mid-range attacks.

Zanpakuto's Bankai Appearance:
It keeps the three-section theme but loses its naginata properties. Instead, it is merely three over-sized weapons connected by an equally large chain. To activate it during his battle with Edrad, Ikkaku slams the two broken pieces of his Shikai back into the spear-form and says Bankai. Ikkaku's two main weapons are a Chinese Monk's spade and a standard Guan dao. Both have a traditional horsehair tassel at the hilt and a long cylindrical weight for a pommel. The pommels are connected by a heavy chain to the center section, which resembles an axe-like blade with a parallel handle forged into the blunt end and a dragon crest on one side of the blade.


Bankai's Abilities:
Gets stronger as battle wags on due to Hozukimaru not being fully awake usually. Dealing and receiving damage helps fill up dragon gauge, as well as spinning it around.


Zanpakuto Spirits Appearance:
Hozukimaru's spirit is that of a large man resembling an oni with dark brown skin and long messy orange hair, in stark contrast to his bald master. He is shirtless and wears a white robe in the form of a skirt, revealing a tattoo on his shoulders in a design similar to the dragon symbol on Ikkaku's Bankai. He also appears to have red markings under his eyes, similar to Ikkaku's

Writing Example;
“I can say the same for you….” Ikkaku said, spitting to the side as the Arrancar finished speaking. His eyes shifted to the side as he observed the menacing man. At the moment, his evaluation was the same. He was an Espada, enough said. It would be a tough fight, but he would be able to hold his own for a while. Ikkaku would vanish, he had used his shunpo to move a few yards away. He raised his sheathed blade up, holding it in a horizontal line. His left hand was placed midways on the scabbard of his blade as his right hand tightly gripped its hilt. He drew his blade and pointed it at the Espada.

Ikkaku’s eyes remained intense as he stared at the espada. This was going to be a tough battle, but it didn’t matter. This was going to be something he loved. He could already tell this was going to be as fun as hell. His smile reappeared, filled with battle craved intent. Ikkaku was a fighter, or he wouldn’t have been drafted into Kenpachi’s squad and he would not be here either. He was full on sprinting now, his zanpakuto and scabbard each point away from Ikkaku on their respective sides. The two of them weren’t so different. They were going to finish this fight, and that was all that mattered.

The first swung had been thrown. Ikkaku did his studying on arrancar and their abilities. He knew of their Heirro and knew how to combat it. He poured his reishi through his arms and into his zanpakuto and scabbard. Once he got close enough, he would shunpo once more. Vanishing, Ikkaku would reappear to his right side. Ikkaku struck, thrusting his scabbard forward as though it were a spear. His place of contact would be the ribs unless Grimmjow picked up on it. Enforcing the strike with reishi, Ikkaku would have more than enough to do significant damage to the espada.

If this were dodged, Ikkaku would have his blade ready for a defense. If it were to be successful, Ikkaku would follow up to slashing his blade into the shoulder of Grimmjow. If this was successful as well, his right arm would be critically damaged, making movement for it as painful as shoving your fist into a wound the size of a quarter. Ikkaku hoped this fight panned out.
