This is how rankings will work:
Although these privileges can be revoked, current captain - lieutenant - espada - fracción positions will be at a first come fist served basis. Regardless of character rank within manga - anime, you will be able to try for a higher position or a position of your choice. According to your character sheet, and writing skill you should decided which rank you think you would be best at.
Example: Toshiro Hitsugaya could become a third or even fifth seat.
Things to make sure you know while choosing your characters rank:
Please take note while taking a captain - lieurenant position you will have far more responsibility to both the Seireitei and to your division. You will not be able to look down upon your subordinates, you will however have to pick a form of punishment for your subordinates when and if they break the law. Depending on the severity; it may be forwarded to central 46.
If all ranks are taken and you would like to take a postion from someone, you must:
First put in a three paragraph request to central 46.
If and when your request is accepted, a fight will take place between you and the current ranked officer. This will be monitored by two members of central 46, as well as two ranked captains. This will not be a fight to a death, and at any point in time the match can be concluded by one of the spectating judges: This must be motioned by two of the three other judges.
The only other way you can fill an officers seat would be; if an officer is M.I.A (for over three weeks without notice to central 46) or if they willingly dismiss themselves. If a ranked officer is killed, the decision is left to the division to decide whom will fill the position. If you're someone without a Zanpakutō, or with nothing known about the Zanpakutō trying for any ranked officer position: You will be expected to create your Zanpakutō. Every captain must have both releases to their Zanpakutō; This can be made void for characters such as Kenpachi Zaraki
Why we're changing everything, and not going strictly cannon:
This is an alterable reality forum, meaning anything is possible within reasonable power limits. If you can find loopholes within reality and make them believable, you're more than welcome to.
Power limits:
Arrancars cannot become anything to do with the Seireitei, Shinigami cannot become Espada or anything of the sort. Humans must remain human, unless you're gifted superhuman powers.
Acceptable: A poorly ranked arrancar in this altered reality can be Espada #1, hiding and residing in the human world.
Unacceptable: A highly ranked officer in this altered reality can become an Espada, residing and going to school in the human world.
This being said, everything as is it shouldn't be, to a limit.
